The Hope men’s soccer team lost at Trine University 2-0 on Wednesday and dropped out of first place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.

The loss snapped a four-match win streak for the Flying Dutchmen, ranked 17^th in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III rankings. They were 25^th last week.

Hope fell to 11-4-1 overall and 7-3 in MIAA play. The Flying Dutchmen are now tied for second place in the league standings with Olivet.

Trine (3-11-1 overall) scored two first-half goals to propel itself to its first MIAA win in 10 league matches this season.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26 when it hosts Adrian at 5 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
