No. 4 Vulcans Knock Off Marauders to Stay Unbeaten

California, Pa. – The No. 4 California (Pa.) Vulcans scored six goals and held Millersville to just three shots to defeat the Marauders by a score of 6-0 on Saturday to stay unbeaten.

The Vulcans (13-0-2, 10-0-2 PSAC) opened up the scoring in the 11th minute. Chlesea Crockett, scoring her first of two goals, sent one past the Millersville goalkeeper to give California (Pa.) a 1-0 lead.

Millersville (5-10-1, 3-9-1 PSAC) was held to just three shots in the first half with just one on goal.

The Vulcans scored three more times in the first half, including back-to-back goals by Breeanna Robinson in a two-minute span.

California (Pa.) took a 4-0 lead into the break, outshooting the Marauders by a margin of 13-3.

The Marauders offensive attack was shut down in the second half. The Vulcans held Millersville without a shot, while firing 13 more shots to outshoot the Marauders 26-3 in the match.

The Vulcans scored twice more in the second half to increase its lead and final score to 6-0.

Millersville resumes play on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when it travels to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on Holy Family. The Marauders and Tigers are set to square off at 3:30 p.m.
