No. 4 Women’s Soccer Harnesses Adams State, 2-0
GOLDEN – NSCAA No. 4 Colorado School of Mines remained unbeaten at home Sunday, hanging a 2-0 shutout on Adams State at CSM Soccer Stadium in Golden.

Freshman Laya Rybicki tied sophomore Anna Deleray for the team's goal lead with her third at 18:30, carrying a defensive clearance by classmate Emily Garnier 15 yards to inside the 18 and sending the straight-on try to left net.

The Orediggers (7-0-2, 4-0-1 RMAC) padded their halftime lead 5:33 into the second; junior Rachael Turner fed a short pass from the penalty arc to redshirt freshman Julia Hawn, who slotted a low, right wing attempt from seven yards to the far post.

Proficient on offense, Mines outshot the Grizzlies (1-7-2, 0-4-2 RMAC) 12-8 and 9-4 in shots on goal.

Hawn recorded a game-high three on-frame tries; junior Deirdre Johnsongenerated two, and Rybicki, Deleray, sophomore Jaclyn Knott and freshman Devon Dunmire each had one.

Program shutouts leader Jayln Yates (7-0-2) made four saves in full time for her seventh clean slate in the last nine matches and 30th of her career – third-most in conference archives and tied for 19th in the Division II record book.

The women take to the pitch at 7 p.m. Friday against Colorado Mesa at Walker Field in Grand Junction.
