ODU Defeats FAU 2-1
ODU SOCCER MONARCHS DEFEAT FAU 2-1
NORFOLK, VA—Sophomore Jesse Miralrio (Arlington, TX.) and junior David Macsicza (Dunajska, Slovakia) scored first half goals to lead Old Dominion (5-4-1/1-1-1) to a 2-1 Conference USA victory over Florida Atlantic Saturday evening at the ODU Soccer Complex.
The Monarchs got on the board early when David Macsicza assisted Miralrio in the box for the first goal. ODU scored again with about 11 minutes left in the first half as Macsicza scored his first collegiate goal on a Christian Schroeer (Petershagan, Germany) corner kick. The Owls added a second half goal on a penalty kick by Ryan Price.
ODU outshot FAU 12-8 overall as the Monarchs goalkeeper Alex Tiesenhausen (Graz, Austrai) had three saves on the night and FAU’s Theo Jamilloux had two. The Monarchs return to action next Saturday night when they host seventh ranked and defending league champion Charlotte at 7 pm.
