Old Dominion men beat William & Mary

NORFOLK, VA—Old Dominion sophomore Jordan LeBlanc’s (Haverford, PA.) first half goal lifted the Monarchs to a 1-0 victory over William and Mary Tuesday night.  ODU is now 4-2 overall, 1-0 in the CAA while the Tribe ranked 28th falls to 4-2 overall, 0-1 in the CAA.
 
At the 23:01 mark of the first half LeBlanc got a pass from fellow sophomore Chris Harmon (Downingtown, PA.) for the score. It was LeBlancs second goal of the season and Harmon’s third assist of the year.
 
ODU’s defense came up big in the match as goalkeeper Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, Va.) had three saves and junior  defender Tommy Webb (Auckland, New Zealand) came up with a couple of stops as well.  W&M’s goalkeeper Andrew  McAdams had four saves. ODU outshot the Tribe, 16-12 overall and 5-3 in shots on goal.
 
Monarch freshman Gideon Asante (Sunyani, Ghana) had four shots, followed by Placide Buduri (San Antonio, TX.) and Yannick Smith (Hillsborough, NJ.) with three shots each. LeBlanc has two shots on goal for ODU, while Buduri, Nick Foglesong and Yannick Smith each had one.

Alan Koger, Nat Baako and Caleb Thomas had one shot on goal each for the Tribe.
 
The Monarchs return to action Saturday night when they host the Patriots of George Mason at 7 p.m.
