Panthers and Yellow Jackets Finish in Draw
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's men's soccer team battled the visiting Yellow Jackets to a 0-0 draw in double overtime Tuesday evening at Panther Field.
With its first tie of the year, ODU now stands at 3-2-1, while Cedarville moves to 7-0-1.
Following the scoreless opening half, the Panthers had a chance to seal the win after senior Colby Catlett's (Hilliard, Ohio) header of senior Justin Wheeler's (Gahanna, Ohio) corner kick was saved by the Yellow Jackets goalie Ethan Dewhurst at the 94:05 mark.
The Yellow Jackets would threaten when Jeremy Hope's shot was stopped by a leaping junior goalie Dean Dziewit (Waterford, Mich.).
Cedarville finished with a decisive 19-11 advantage shots, including 9-2 in the frist half, but tied on shots on target 5-5.
Dziewit notched five saves in goal.
The Panthers will return to conference action this Friday, September 21, traveling to Malone for a 3:30 p.m. start.
