Manchester, N.H. - The Adelphi University men's soccer team traveled to the campus of Southern New Hampshire University to face the Penmen in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Tournament on Friday evening. Unable to rally from a halftime deficit, the Panthers fell by a 1-0 final score. With the loss, the Panthers end their season, the program's first in the Division II ranks, with an 11-7 record.

The first 30 minutes of play passed by scoreless even though the Penmen outshot the Panthers 10-1 over that time. The hosts would not be denied, however, as Pierre Omanga broke through for Southern New Hampshire in the 34th minute. Omanga took a cross from Kenny Doublette and one-timed the ball right to left past Ahmad Salamah to give the Penmen a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers took just one shot in the remainder of the half, but Alejandro Penzini's effort at the 34:37 mark went wide left.

The Penmen continued their domination on offense in the second half, as they outshot the Panthers by a 14-2 margin. The Panthers' only offensive opportunities came at 69:28, when Diego Zuniga's only shot of the contest was saved, and 87:20, when Chris Joseph's attempt missed high.
In total, the Penmen recorded 25 shots while the Panthers tallied just four. Southern New Hampshire also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Salamah faced eight shots on goal and made seven saves, but his strong effort was not enough as the Panthers' offense was stymied by the Penmen defense. Salamah's counterpart, Dom Dimaggio, faced just one shot on goal in the game and made the save.

The Penmen advance to the Northeast-10 Championship game and will host #2 Merrimack, who defeated #6 Franklin Pierce on penalty kicks in the other semifinal.
