Panthers Win 2-1 In Nailbiting 2OT
MIDLAND, Mich. – A clearance attempt by freshman Madison Baldwin (Zanesville, Ohio) in the 104th minute lifted the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory in double overtime at Northwood on Friday at Dean Field.
Ohio Dominican (5-3-2; 2-2-1 GLIAC) had to play from behind when Northwood's Allison Carroll connected from 24 yards out off a set piece in the 33rd minute.
With the clock running out on the Panthers, junior Jordan Mazzi (Galena, Ohio) found the equalizer in the 75th minute. The junior took a quick pass from junior Broegan Sautter (Bellville, Ohio) and buried it into the left corner of the net.
Baldwin saw an opportunity in the opening minutes of the second overtime period to hit home her first game-winning goal of the season and second overall.
The game was evenly matched with the Panthers slightly outshooting the Timberwolves 10-9. Northwood edged ODU on corner kicks 4-2.
The Panthers will continue their road swing on Sunday, squaring off with Saginaw Valley at noon.
