Portland State's Solis represents Mexico U20s

Vikings' freshman forward Daniela Solis will represent Mexico at the 2012 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship starting today in Panama City, Panama. The Mexico U20 team will take on Jamaica at the Estadio Rommel Fernández tonight at 4:30 p.m. PST.
 
The Mexico U20 team will take on the U20 teams from Jamaica, Haiti and Canada in Group A action. Group B will consist of the United States, Guatemala, Panama and Cuba. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals with the winners of the semifinal matches advancing to the finals and the losers squaring off for third place.
 
The top three teams out of the CONCAFAC U20 qualifying will advance to the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Japan 2012 held Aug. 18-Sept. 8, 2012. China PR, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, German, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Argentina, Brazil and host Japan have already qualified for Japan 2012.
 
Solis represented Mexico in the 2010 U17 World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago and made three appearances, two starts. She made her first international start against the eventual winner, South Korea. She scored the game-winning goal in the 21st minute against the Republic of South Africa for her first international goal.
