Ranger Men's Soccer Now Ranked #5

Ranger Men’s Soccer Moves up Two Spots to #5 in Most Recent NSCAA/Continental Tire National Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kansas:  Regis University's men's soccer moves up two spots to #5 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire National Coaches Poll, while the team remained #1 in the South Central Region poll.

The Rangers are currently 6-0-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  As a team, Regis has amassed 27 total goals and 69 points so far this season.  Freshman Christian Nicolosi and the Ranger defense have only allowed four goals, while shutting out three teams and accumulating a 0.55 goals against average.

Last week, the Rangers went 2-0 with a big 7-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo on Tuesday and a 1-0 shutout over UC-Colorado Springs on Friday.

In the win over CSU-P, sophomore forward Martin Maybin scored four goals of his own, putting him at seven goals on the season to lead the Rangers.  Maybin also leads the team with 16 points and 16 shots on goal of 20 shot attempts.

Regis earned the lead in Sunday's match in the first half by senior Alex Tarnoczi when he scored his fifth goal of the season. 

In celebration of family weekend, the Rangers will host Adams State College at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 28 and Colorado Mesa University at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 30.
