Rangers Place Three on NSCAA All-America Tm

Men’s Soccer Places Three on NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Teams; Diem and Maybin to Second

KANSAS CITY, Kan.:  Ranger men's soccer was honored with three NSCAA/Continental Tire All-America Team selections Tuesday.  Senior Taylor Diem and sophomore Martin Maybin were named to the Second Team, while sophomore Logan Miller received a Third Team selection.

The Rangers finished RMAC regular season with a Conference Championship under their belts and a 14-0-0 undefeated conference record.  It was the second time in RMAC history that a men's soccer team went undefeated throughout the regular season; as well as a first for Regis men's soccer.

Diem, a defender from Middleton, Wis., netted two goals for the Rangers, including one game-winner.  He also assisted on four other goals while helping the Rangers to a 0.94 goals against average.  He was a Daktronics All-America First Team selection, while he was also named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, to the RMAC All-Tournament Team and he received an All-RMAC First Team honors.

Maybin led the Rangers with 40 points after scoring 15 goals for the Rangers, including three game-winners and assisting on 10 others.  The Belfast, N. Ireland native upheld a .688 shot on goal percentage after putting 33-of-48 shots on goal.  The forward was also named to the Daktronics All-America Third Team, All-RMAC First Team and the RMAC All-Tournament Team after his performance this season.

Formerly of Tomball, Texas, Miller scored nine goals and assisted on three others for 21 points for the Rangers.  He put in three game-winning goals while netting 5-of-7 penalty kicks.  As a midfielder, he was named an All-RMAC First Team selection as well as to the All-Tournament team.  Committed both in and out of the classroom, he also received Capital One Academic All-District First Team honors.

The Rangers advanced to post season after finishing out regular season play ranked #1 in the nation for three weeks straight.  They experienced their first NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance all-time, as well as Regis University Athletics first top spot ranking on a national poll (NSCAA/Continental Tire).

The Rangers topped the record books in 10 separate team single-season categories, including points (173), points per game (8.65), goals (64), goals per game (3.2) and game-winning goals (17), among others, and saw the most wins (17) they have ever had in a single season.
