Denver, Colorado: The Regis University Rangers Women’s Soccer team fell 2-1 to the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers (6-0-1) in their first loss in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The Rangers move to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the RMAC.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kat Crump (Huntsville, Alabama) recorded three saves in the first half to keep the score at an even 0-0 heading into the break.  The scoring would open for both teams shortly into the second half.

The Colorado Mines broke the silence in the 56th minute of play when Laya Rybicki scored an unassisted goal.  The Rangers responded in the 63rd minute when freshman forward Rikki Fix (Boise, Idaho) scored her first goal of the season.  Junior forward Paulina Salazar (Escondido, California) is credited with the assist.

Play would settle until the 80th minute when the Orediggers scored the game-winning goal to finish the game.  Sophomore goalkeeper Brianna Randall (Minden, Nevada) saw her first minutes of the season subbing into the game at half.

Shots were well balanced with the Mines slightly edging out Regis 11-10.  The Rangers have a short turnaround and travel to Colorado Mesa on Sunday, September 28.  Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
