Richardson Named WHAC Defensive Player of th

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech’s Reece Richardson (Halifax, England/Ryburn Valley) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Defensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer.

The 6-5 junior keeper made 10 saves to help boost the Warriors to a 2-1 upset of Aquinas College, who was receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll. The lone goal surrendered by Tech was an own goal.

Richardson has allowed just 14 goals in 15 contests this season, giving him a 0.89 goals against average, which is tops in the WHAC and ranks 17th in the NAIA. He also owns a 0.816 save percentage and has posted six shutouts this season.

The Warriors (9-4-2, 5-1-2 WHAC) are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Lawrence Tech before returning home for the regular season finale on Saturday, Oct. 27 against Cornerstone University beginning at 3 p.m.
