'Roos Stumble To Tigers, 3-0
(Kansas City, Mo.) - Coming off a tough 2-1 double overtime loss to the Missouri State Bears Friday night, the UMKC women's soccer team looked to bounce back against the Missouri Tigers Sunday afternoon. However, the 'Roos (1-5-3) fell short to the Tigers (8-2), 3-0.
In the first half, the 'Roos held the Tigers scoreless going into halftime. However, in the second half, Mizzou scored three unanswered goals to seal the win.
In the 52nd minute, senior midfielder Kelsey Blinow connected for a score, assisted by sophomore forward Alyssa Diggs. Then, during the 86th minute, Diggs connected on a score of her own, assisted by freshman forward/midfielder Abi Raymer.
A little over a minute later, after a foul on UMKC, sophomore midfielder Dominique Richardson scored on a penalty kick to put the Tigers up 3-0.
Next up for the 'Roos will be against Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 P.M.
