The University of Scranton women’s soccer team outshot Lebanon Valley on Sunday, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to the Dutchmen in the Joe Bochicchio Classic at Fitzpatrick Field.

Lebanon Valley (2-2) scored the game’s only goal in the 16th minute on a goal by senior forward Nicole Snyder (Hegins, Pa./Tri Valley) on an assist from sophomore midfielder Amanda Douglass (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville).

The Royals (0-3-2) had chances to tie the game, outshooting Lebanon Valley, 13-8, including a team high four shots by sophomore forward Kelsy O’Kane (Springfield, Pa./Cardinal O’Hara). But Scranton could not find the equalizer as Dutchmen senior goalie Sami Young (Middletown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) made four saves.

Scranton junior goalie Kelsy McAnelly (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) made three saves in the loss. The Royals are now 4-2-1 all-time against Lebanon Valley.

The Royals are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Union, N.J. to take on Kean University at 7:30 p.m.
