Rangers Finish 2013 Ranked 10th on NSCAA/Continental Tire National Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan.:  Regis men's soccer finished out the 2013 season ranked 10th on the NSCAA/Continental Tire National Coaches Poll voted on by NCAA Division II coaches throughout the nation. 

Regis is the only school from the RMAC that earned a place on the final season rankings throughout 2013.

Throughout the 2013 season, the Rangers finished 14-4-1 overall and 11-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference while earning their second consecutive RMAC regular season championship and third NCAA tournament appearance in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

The team garnered their first ever NCAA victory all-time after receiving a bye to the NCAA Sweet 16 round for the second consecutive season as the #1 seed in the South Central region.  Regis also earned their first-ever NCAA Elite 8 appearance as the hosts of the third and quarterfinal rounds.

As a team, RU topped the RMAC in five separate categories and came second in two, finishing nationally rnake 11th in total assists, 14th in total points, 15th in points per game and win-loss-tied percentage, 16th in scoring offense and total goals and 17th in assists per game.

This season alone, the Rangers garnered three NSCAA All-South Central Region team selections, three to Daktronics All-South Central Region and one to the Daktronics All-America team, while also snagging six All-RMAC honors, including two first team selections.

Two Rangers earned CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America honors, three to All-District, an RMAC Summit Award achievement and seven Academic All-RMAC selections, including four to first team and the Academic All-RMAC Player of the Year.  For the past two consecutive seasons, the Rangers also earned NSCAA Team Academic Awards, an award given to those teams that maintain academic excellence in the classroom while succeeding on the pitch.

Head coach Tony McCall was named NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year and RMAC Coach of the Year for two consecutive seasons for the Rangers.
