Rangers Outplay Cougars for Quality 2-0 Victory

DENVER, Colo.:  After their big win last week over Colorado Mesa, Regis came out with an extra beat in their step this afternoon against Colorado Christian University.

Throughout the match, the Rangers sported pink jerseys in honor of breast cancer research in an effort to support the fight breast cancer.

The Rangers outshot the Cougars 23 to three, and put in nine shots on goal compared to their opponent's two shots on goal throughout the match.

Freshman keeper kept the opposition goalless after putting in two saves while in between the posts.

RU scored both goals in the first half, first in the 23rd minute after sophomore Danielle Dageenakis broke down the left wing and crossed into senior CC Rinehart located just left of the 6-yard box.  The forward took the ball and scored bottom left to bring the Rangers up 1-0 early.

Five minutes before the first half was up, Regis struck again, this time after sophomore Sid Otto connected with senior Rachel McMahon, passing the ball into the senior midfielder from to top of the 18-yard box.

McMahon, moving in from the left of the 18-yard box, dribbled through the middle of the Cougar defense and scored above the CCU goalie's outstretched hands.

Next, Regis will travel to Alamosa, Colo. to take on the Grizzlies of Adams State at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
