Saint Louis Falls to DePaul, 2-0
CHICAGO – DePaul scored early in the second half and added a late insurance goal in a 2-0 victory over Saint Louis Thursday afternoon at Wish Field.
DePaul improved to 6-4-1, while SLU fell to 2-5-2.
Jenny Hummert and Katelyn Hammarlund tallied two shots apiece for the Billikens. Hammarlund and Jessie Jarrett each fired a shot on frame, and Katie Walsh made five saves in goal.
The Bills allowed just two shots on goal in the first half, but it didn’t take long for the Blue Demons to find the back of the net following intermission. Amber Paul, assisted by Elise Wyatt, gave DePaul a 1-0 lead at the 49:53 mark.
Brianna Ryce received an assist from Sara Brathwaite and made it 2-0 Blue Demons at 83:13.
The Billikens open Atlantic 10 Conference play Saturday, Sept. 29, against new conference member Butler in Indianapolis. Game time is 6 p.m. (CT).
