#Seawolves fall to Vermont, 2-0

Burlington, Vt. -  Stony Brook (3-8-1, 1-1-0 AE) fell behind early then narrowly missed a few second half scoring chances, eventually falling to Vermont 2-0 on Saturday. 
 
Goal Recaps
- The Catamounts took the lead in the 12th minute on a goal from Bernard Yeboah. He beat redshirt freshman Tom McMahon (Nassau Bay, Texas) high after receiving a cross from Brian Wright.
 - Wright gave Vermont a two goal lead when he took a long, diagonal pass from Luke Salmon and finished it into the corner.
 
Highlights
- Junior Alejandro Fritz (Budapest, Hungary) had the Seawolves first scoring chance when Stony Brook was awarded a free kick on top of the box but his shot struck the wall.
 - Trailing 1-0, redshirt freshman Fernando Wadskier had a great chance when the ball fell to him six yards out but his shot was saved by the Vermont goalkeeper.
 - With the Seawolves down 2-0, senior Keith McKenna (Great River, N.Y.) had a chance to cut the deficit in half, but his header was cleared off the line by a Catamount defender.
 - On the ensuing corner kick the Seawolves clanked a header off the post.
 
Notes
- Vermont outshot Stony Brook 9-6.
 - Six different Seawolves recorded shots.
 - The Seawolves attempted five corner kicks to just two for Vermont.
 - McMahon made two saves in the loss.

Stony Brook has a difficult matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when they head to Hartford for a 7 p.m. kick.
