#SFBKSoc Trio Named to NSCAA All-Region Team

December 11, 2013

Kansas City, Kansas---Three members of the 2013 Northeast Conference Men’s Soccer champion St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers received All-North Atlantic Region honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Junior forward Kevin Correa along with defender and co-captain Andy Cormack garnered All-NSCAA First Team accolades while senior forward Gabriel Bagot was named to the Second Team.

Correa was named to his second straight All-North Atlantic Region team after bursting onto the scene last season.  The Flushing, NY native was instrumental in the Terriers’ success in capturing their first conference crown in fifteen years. Correa tallied four goals during the NEC Tournament, two of which coming off free-kicks in the championship match against Bryant.  For his efforts, he was named Tournament Most Valuable Player and named to the All-Tournament team.  During the season, Correa led the Terriers for the second straight year in goals scored with thirteen tallies.  In addition, he added six assists and 32 points to rank among the top-three on the circuit in all three statistical categories.

Cormack, who garnered his first NSCAA accolade, provided the stability and leadership in the back as the co-captain was pivotal all season long.  In the 97th minute of the championship match against Bryant, the Plymouth, England native stepped up and converted the golden goal that sent the Terriers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998.  Cormack helped anchor a Terriers’ defense that gave up just 14 goals during the regular season, the second fewest in the conference and fewest under head coach Tom Giovatto’s seven years at the helm.

Bagot, who was named to the All-NSCAA for the third straight season, finishes up his St. Francis Brooklyn career with 25 career goals, the tenth highest total in school history to go along with 63 total points, good for 11th all-time. The native New Yorker, earned a third straight All-Northeast Conference selection as he finished the 2013 campaign with eight goals, three assists and 19 points.
