Silva Player of the Week, Lobos stay #1

A pair of MPSF conference victories kept Jeremy Fishbein’s New Mexico Lobos at #1 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 48 National Ranking for men’s college soccer. The Lobos are 15-0-2 now after shutout wins at home over Sacramento State and San Jose State, and are followed in this week’s ranking by North Carolina, Creighton and South Florida.
One key to the wins was Lobo goalkeeper Victor Rodriguez, who turned in a pair of shutouts and earns a spot on the the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men’s College Team of the Week, which is chosen after reviewing every match report for Division One soccer. Headlining the group this week however is UC Santa Barbara midfielder Luis Silva, who scored 3 goals and added 3 assists in a pair of victories for the Gauchos.
