NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- Cal State Fullerton senior JeAnne Mazeau converted a pass from her younger sister, Erica, for the "golden goal" game-winner just 58 seconds into overtime on Friday night, lifting the Titans to a 1-0 shutout victory over host Cal State Northridge at Matador Field.

Coupled with its upset of then-No. 21 Long Beach State last weekend, Friday's victory gave Fullerton back-to-back wins for only the second time this season, moving the Titans to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in Big West Conference play.

The Matadors fell to 4-4-4 overall and 1-1 in league play with the defeat, watching their four-match winning streak in the series against Fullerton come to an end.

"I am extremely proud of the women tonight," Head Coach Demian Brown said. "Cal State Northridge was very good and frustrated us in the attack. However, the way we continued to battle throughout the night was very impressive."

A turnover in the defensive half of the field for the Matadors led to the elder Mazeau's first career score and winning strike as a failed clearance after a corner kick set up Fullerton's winning sequence. The ball went wide to Erica Mazeau, who sent the ball back in to JeAnne, who fired it home from the top of the 18. Goalkeeper Cynthia Jacobo, who finished with seven saves, was in position for the initial stop, but the spin of the ball took it out of her hands and into the net.

The assist was Erica Mazeau's team-high sixth of the season, matching teammate Ann Marie Tangorra's team-leading total from last season and the most for a Titan since Jenae Gibbens tallied seven helpers in 2008.

Fullerton outshot Northridge, 18-12, and had 12 corner kicks to just one for the Matadors. JeAnne Mazeau led the Titans with four shots on the night while junior Lindsey Maricic tallied five saves to post her third shutout of the season. Four different Northridge players finished with two shots on the night.

Cal State Fullerton ends its brief two-match roadtrip with its inaugural trip to conference newcomer Hawaii on Sunday (Oct. 7) for an 8 p.m. PT kickoff from Honolulu.

NOTES: With her goal, JeAnne Mazeau become only the sixth different Titan to score a goal this season, but the fourth to score a game-winning goal... Friday night marked Fullerton's third overtime match of the season -- all coming on the road -- but the Titans' first win in extra time after early losses at Loyola Marymount (Aug. 19) and at Michigan (Aug. 24)... Cal State Fullerton's 12 corner kicks were the most since the Titans finished with the same number at UC Riverside on Oct. 28, 2007, in a 2-1 win.
