MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Houston soccer team shutout Memphis, 1-0, in front of the largest crowed of the season on Sunday afternoon at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The Cougars are now 6-6-3 on the season and 2-2-3 in Conference USA play after their second straight win.

"If was a tremendous weekend," Head Coach Chris Pfau said. "This team showed a lot of character to get two wins on the road. They played for each other and when you do that good things will happen.

The two teams battled through a scoreless first half. Junior keeper Cami Koski would keep Houston in the game, posting six of her 10 saves in the first 45 minutes of the match.

The Cougars would get on the scoreboard at the 53:02 mark as senior forward Katelyn Rhodes found the back of the net from 10 yards out for the third time this season. Rhodes would account for four of the Cougars six shots on the match.

Houston is now 7-7-1 all-time against Memphis.

"I am so proud of each player and have loved the journey," Pfau said. "This is a great team to be around, and it will be a fun couple of weeks."
