Soccer Suffers 4-0 Loss at Miami (Fla.)
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After a lengthy lightning delay, the Morehead State soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Miami (Fla.) at Cobb Stadium on Friday evening. The match was called in the 79th minute due to inclement weather.
The Hurricanes improved their record to 2-1, while the Eagles dropped to 0-3 on the season.
The Hurricanes connected off a corner just five minutes into the match when senior defender Ali Brennan found a loose ball in the box. Miami scored again of its second corner six minutes later when freshman forward Jasmine Paterson placed the ball into the near post.
The final goal of the half came from freshman midfielder Ally Andreini at the top of the box in the 20th minute.
Brennan struck again for the Hurricanes in the 64th minute, when she found the back of the net off her head for the second time.
Due to lightning the game was called in the 79th minute and the Hurricanes earned the victory.
Freshman midfielder Teig Palmateer took MSU’s only shot of the night.
