St. Cloud State Soccer Falls 2-0 at Bemidji State
The St. Cloud State University soccer team saw its three-game win streak snapped on Oct. 1 with a 2-0 setback at NSIC rival Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn. The loss moves SCSU's record to 4-5-0, 2-3-0 NSIC, while Bemidji State's record is now 4-4-1, 3-1-1 NSIC. The Huskies will continue their northern road trip on Oct. 2 with a match at Minnesota Duluth.
BSU gained a 1-0 lead in the match at 4:05 with a goal by Kristen Erickson (her sixth goal of the year). The Beavers iced the game at 49:55 with a goal by Bri Scanlan.
In the contest, SCSU outshot the Beavers 18-12 and this included a first half that saw the Huskies own a 15-6 lead in shots. Kenzie Hanzlik made three saves for the Huskies in the nets, while Abby Rjonaas had the shutout with nine saves. Of note, SCSU junior midfielder Mary Mohrhardt paced the squad with seven shots in the game.
