The unassisted goal was Kass' 18th career marker with the Huskies.  The offensive attack for SCSU was completed at 40:46 with a goal by Sarah Benhart on an assist from Maria Witte.  Benhart's third career goal was set up by Witte's free kick that found Benhart open in the box.

Schmidt played all 90:00 in the contest for the Huskies, while Ermma Vermette and Brianna Frontuto combined for four saves for NMU.

The Huskies will return to the pitch at Husky Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 3 with a Noon start against non-conference rival Michigan Tech University.  Tickets for the contest are available at the gate and all SCSU students get into the game for FREE.
