TDS Division I Men's Top 25: Sept. 26
There is a new No. 1 team in the TopDrawerSoccer Men’s Division I Top 25. Notre Dame (7-1) defeated Syracuse (8-1) in conference play on Friday, and claimed the top spot in the rankings. A late tally from Jon Gallagher lifted Notre Dame to the win in the crucial conference clash. The Orange slip from No. 1 to No. 3in this week’s Top 25.
North Carolina (7-1) bounces back to No. 2. The Tar Heels crushed William & Mary 4-1 last week and then thumped No. 18 Boston College 5-0 in the conference battle on Friday. The Tar Heels take on Syracuse this week in conference play as the ACC continues to dominant the Top 25. There are four teams from the ACC in the top five this week. There are nine teams from the conference in the top 25.
Louisville (7-1-1) checks in at No. 4. The Cardinals destroyed No. 19 Virginia 6-1 on Saturday . Louisville is carrying a five-game winning streak into this week’s game against No. 18 Boston College.
Maryland (6-0-2) rounds out the top five. The Terps defeated Michigan State 2-0 on Friday in Big Ten. The scoreline was flattering to the visitors as Michigan State goalkeeper Jimmy Hague put in a brilliant performance to keep the game close as long as he could.
