TDS Division I Women's Top 25: Aug. 29
If the first couple of weeks are anything to go by, the 2016 women's Division I season is going to be very unpredictable.
While No. 1 Stanford kept its position at the top of the rankings, there were upsets aplenty this past weekend, and a flurry of movement in the latest Division I women's Top 25.
The Cardinal needed overtime to win its clash against Florida, as Jordan DiBiasi's golden goal provided a 1-0 victory, as the top-ranked team moved its record 3-0.
West Virginia moved into the top five on the strength of its 1-0 home win against No. 9 Clemson.
Rutgers moved into the Top 10, checking in at No. 8 after beating fellow top-ranked opponent Connecticut by a 2-0 score on Sunday.
Duke tumbled a few spots in the wake of a road defeat against Arkansas, while No. 6 Penn State lost to No. 16 BYU.
UCLA, despite losing 4-3 in overtime against No. 10 Florida, jumped into the Top 25 on the strength of its 1-0 win against Texas A&M in College Station on Friday night. Joining the Bruins as newcomers in the rankings are No. 23 Long Beach State and No. 24 South Florida.
