TDS Women's Division I Top 25: Oct. 19
There's little doubting that Florida State is one of the national title favorites.
The Seminoles kept rolling, maintaining their No. 1 spot in this week's rankings update, coming off a 3-1 road victory agianst Louisville. The reigning national champs are in control of the ACC race ahead of critical trips to Virginia Tech and Virginia this weekend.
West Virginia, BYU, Virginia(w) and Stanford round out the top five, but it's elsewhere in the rankings that features a couple of upsets.
For the first time in a decade, Duke found a way past North Carolina, edging the Tar Heels 1-0 at Chapel Hill. A stout defensive effort was punctuated by Imani Dorsey's winning goal in the first half. The Blue Devils joined the Top 25 at No. 23 on the heels of the victory.
No. 14 Rutgers picked up one of the other most significant results of the weekend, topping No. 9 Penn State at home, thanks to a game-winning strike from sophomore Colby Ciarocca.
Also new to the rankings this week are Arizona (No. 22) and Mississippi (No. 25).
