TDS Women's Division I Top 25: Sept. 21
It was a road trip to remember for Minnesota over the past few days.
Facing two ranked Big Ten opponents away from home, the Golden Gophers claimed a pair of substantial wins to crack this week's TopDrawerSoccer Top 25. In its conference opener last Thursday, Minnesota bagged a 2-1 defeat against Ohio State in Columbus thanks to Simone Kolander's late second half goal. From there, Kolander's 32nd minute goal was enough against the highly ranked Nittany Lions, as Minnesota edged proceedings 1-0.
The ACC continued its strong performance, as Virginia, North Carolina and Florida State sit in the top three. The Cavaliers dominated Syracuse in conference play, winning 5-0 on Sunday. The Tar Heels moved into the No. 2 spot with a 2-1 win against Virginia Tech, while the Seminoles went on the road and drew 0-0 against No. 19 Duke.
No. 4 West Virginia's shutout streak continued, as BYU moved into the No. 5 slot with Clemson right on its heels. Auburn and Arizona joined Minnesota as the new programs in this week's Top 25.
