BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- Sophomore Riccardo Milano scored the equalizer in the 90th minute as the St. Francis men's soccer team salvaged a point against Northeast Conference leader Fairleigh Dickinson University, 1-1, on Friday evening at Aviator Field.

Trailing late in the contest, the Terriers pressured deep the inside the box after a throw-in by sophomore John Johansson found the chest of junior Bryant Vargas that initiated a scramble allowing Milano to tap in the goal.

St. Francis outshot the Knights, 27-6, in the contest and controlled possession on the corners, 11-4.  Knights' netminder Jacob Lissek made a game-high nine saves and kept the Terriers off the board until the late tally.

FDU (8-3-3, 4-1-2 NEC) needed just 10 minutes into the contest to score the opening goal, as Jack Mcvey picked the top right corner of the net off a free kick from 20 yards away.

However, trailing 1-0 the Terriers offensive attack was still alive, leading to a 6-2 edge in shots with sophomore Gabriel Bagot leading the way with three shots on target.  Freshman Victor Claesson finished the game with a pair of shots and even came close early in the opening stanza.

The visitors forced just two shots on goal, with junior Tyler Clarhaut making a single save in the second half thanks to great defensive positioning by the Terrier backline.

St. Francis (8-3-2, 3-1-1 NEC) will travel down to Monmouth for a crucial meeting with Hawks from the Great Lawn on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Monmouth Athletic website.
