The 91st Minute: College goals galore
This week on the 91st Minute: Whitney Lewis and Kevin Brennan kick things off with some spectacular goals scored from this weekend including UCLA’s Milan Iloski setting records and Brooke Wilson with the goal of the year.
Next they go over what’s happening with the men’s and women’s national soccer teams, from men’s coach Jason Kreis calling 25 players to training camp to who will replace former women’s coach Jill Ellis. Oh and Kevin gives everybody a little geography lesson.
After some discussion on the NWSL and which teams will make the playoffs (none will surprise you) they talk about DC United’s newest, and youngest, star in Moses Nyeman and an outstanding college player in Bethany Balcer who is in her rookie season as a forward for Reign FC. They wrap things up praising Red Bull Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch’s inspiring halftime speech from their match against Liverpool last week.
