Top 100 College Men Updated
September 15, 2010
TopDrawerSoccer.com is proud to release the opening installment of its College Players To Watch Upperclass Top 100 Men’s National Ranking. With this list we will endeavor to track, weekly, the best players in college soccer. There are a number of things you should remember as you read the list and follow it through the season.
- Freshmen are not eligible. Freshmen have their own Top 100 National List and that comes out next Wednesday.
- Click here for a separate Upperclass Women’s Top 100 or the Freshmen Women's Top 100.
- The list is built upon our weekly College Conference Top 20 Lists, which track players in each DI conference weekly.
- The list is meant to reflect overall quality of players. This means it is far more than a ranking of statistics. As soccer in many ways is not a statistical game, it is important to understand the qualities that players can bring to defense, attack, central midfield and wing play, along with goalkeeping. So many of the things that make players desirable to have on teams are not reflected in statistics.
- As a result of #4, the list will be subject to various items that could cause it to change over time. While a player being out injured for a short time won’t necessarily lead to a change, for instance, a longer-term injury or issue with playing time will.
