Trine Women's Soccer Drop MIAA Opener
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Trine University women’s soccer team dropped their MIAA conference opener on the road to Kalamazoo College 1-0. The loss drops the Thunder to 1-2 on the season.
The lone goal of the game came early on for the Hornets as Jordan Meeth scored the game-winner at 15:11. The Hornets would go one to out-shoot the Thunder 13-0 in the half. Sophomore goalie Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich./Olivet) recorded nine saves for the Thunder in the period.
Trine’s lone shot attempt came off the foot of junior Amy Williams (Garrett, Ind./Northrop) in the 57th minute but was wide of the net.
Davis finished the night with a season-high 11 saves.
Trine will return to action on Sept. 12 for a 4:00 p.m. game where they face defending conference champion and preseason favorite Calvin College.
