Tulsa Battles Temple to 0-0 Tie
Tulsa battled Temple to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 4-8-2 on the season and 0-4-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls moved to 7-6-2 overall and 3-1-2 in the league.
“It was a tough night in the final third,” Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. “At times our final cross wasn’t good enough, the final ball wasn’t great and obviously we missed a few chances. The guys worked hard, they gave everything they had, but we couldn’t put one into the back of the net. Defensively we were pretty solid throughout the night, Bryson had to make some saves and did well, but I am disappointed we couldn’t find a way to put one away.”
Tulsa had a 19-9 lead in shots and a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks, while both teams had six shots on goal.
Mitchell Cashion had a team-best five shots, while Alejandro Chavez added four attempts, Harris Partain had three, Marcos Moreno and Adam Habib both attempted two shots, and three others had one. Bryson Reed logged all 110 minutes in goal and picked up six saves.
Tulsa will conclude the regular season on Tuesday, November 5 at UConn. Game time is set for 6:00 pm in Storrs, Conn.
