Tulsa Drops 1-0 Decision to UConn

The Tulsa men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to UConn on Friday night at the Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn.  TU fell to 3-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Huskies moved to 5-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.

 

UConn’s Niko Petridis tallied the lone goal of the contest as he scored on a breakaway down the left side with 52:15 ticked off the clock.

 

Kay Duit had a team-leading two shots, while five others had one attempt for Tulsa.  Marcel Da Silva logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save.

 

UConn had an 8-7 lead in shots, including a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.

 

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7 against USF.  Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
