Tulsa Drops 3-0 Decision to UCF
The Tulsa men’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to UCF on Sunday afternoon at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex in Orlando, Fla. TU fell to 4-6-1 on the season and 1-3 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Knights moved to 3-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the league.
Matias Pyysalo scored two goals in the contest for UCF, including an unassisted score at the 53:50 mark and then on a rebound attempt taken by Joel Vartiainen in the 63rd minute. Pyysalo assisted on Cal Jennings goal at the 73:15 mark.
UCF had a 12-6 lead in shots, including a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 7-2 lead in corner kicks.
Alex Harris had three of TU’s shots, while Munashe Raranje added two attempts and Kay Duit had one shot. Marcel Da Silva logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up three saves.
Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, October 21 against Temple. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
