Two Hat Tricks Give Bulls 11-0 Win

September 21, 2018

TAMPA, SEPT. 21, 2018 – All-American Evelyne Viens and freshman Sydny Nasello each recorded a hat trick in USF’s record-breaking 11-0 victory over Florida College on Friday night.

The Bulls (5-1-0) stayed perfect at Corbett Stadium and smashed the record for goals scored in a game set at nine in 2011 against Alabama A&M. Viens (Canada) and Nasello (Land O’ Lakes, Fla.) are two of only seven Bulls to have scored hat tricks in USF women’s soccer history.

After two weeks without a match, USF women’s soccer returned to the pitch for a game that was added to the schedule just days prior.

Viens (Canada) set a new career-high for goals in a game when she added one to her hat trick in the 52nd minute off an assist by defender Kelli Burney (Bealeton, Va.)

Nasello (Land O’ Lakes, Fla.) not only scored her first career goal at USF, but added two more for her first hat trick. The young striker took a quick opportunity, scoring just 57 seconds into the match.

Freshman Autumn Woodard (Orange Park, Fla.) had a brace after scoring her first two goals in Green and Gold. She netted both in the span of just four minutes and she sent in the first off a cross from senior Hanna Seybold (Tampa, Fla.)

The Bulls defense also was in top form, allowing just one shot from the Falcons, which was saved by sophomore keeper Ricquelle Farquharson (Davie, Fla.)
