Two Hornets Receive All Conference Honors

The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State's Aaliyah Lewis and Kylee Hathaway as SWAC Soccer Players of the Week for October 7, 2013.

Hathaway was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season, while Offensive Player of the Week was credited to Lewis.

Lewis tacked on two hat tricks (6 goals) for Alabama State during last week's competition. She recorded her first hat trick of the week to carry the Lady Hornets to their 8-0 victory over Talladega on Wednesday. Lewis posted an additional three goals to lead ASU to a 5-0 win over Alcorn State to pick up the Lady Hornets first divisional win on Friday. Lewis ranks first on the team and conference in goals (12) and also in points (28).

Other than Lewis team and conference rankings she is also ranked in the nation. She is ranked sixth in total points, eighth in total goals, 12th in goals per game, and 13th in points per game

Hathaway has had three shutouts on the season, she currently holds the highest saves percentage in the conference at .798. She finished last week's competition with 14 saves, earning a 2-0 conference record on the year.
