U20 MNT Preview: 3 keys to quarterfinal
This is what the U.S. Under 20 Men’s National Team has been working toward for the last year and a half.
Head coach Tab Ramos said as much after Friday’s 1-0 win over Costa Rica, a marginally better performance than its opening group win over Haiti last week.
So now, a spot in the World Cup comes down to a winner-take-all quarterfinal clash against Canada.
“I don’t want to take away the fact that the players should enjoy that we won the group, so we want to do that for a little bit,” Ramos said after the win over Costa Rica. “But at the same time we have to recognize that we’re here for Tuesday’s game. Everything we’ve done so far for the past year and a half has been for Tuesday’s game, and we have to get there. Today was just another little step toward our goal.”
