UConn edges Heels for #1; Smith POTW

Ray Reid’s Connecticut Huskies are still #1 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 48 National Ranking for men’s college soccer, despite suffering the first blemish on their record this season, a 0-0 draw vs. Notre Dame. The Huskies are still on top but find the #2 North Carolina Tar Heels breathing down their necks as UNC currently has an 8-match winning streak. New Mexico, Creighton, Maryland and Akron follow.The ranking is a running effort to project the postseason NCAA Tournament field, including all automatic conference and at-large qualifiers. Weekly updates will appear every Monday.
Meanwhile, Old Dominion’s Yannick Smith has been named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's College Player of the Week. Smith scored five goals in helping the Monarchs to a pair of victories this week.
