UD ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH 3-2 WIN OVER SJU

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Dayton women's soccer team scored two unanswered goals to come from behind and defeat Saint Joseph's 3-2 Sunday at Sweeney Field. With the win, the Flyers improve to 12-5-1 overall and 7-1-0 in Atlantic 10 action. The Hawks, needing a win to secure a berth at the A-10 Championship this weekend, drops to 7-8-3, 3-4-1 A-10.
Sophomore Nicole Waters scored the first goal of the match in the 27th minute with an assist from senior Stephanie Emery.
Mo Hawkins scored the next two goals, unassisted in the 31st minute and on a PK in the 38th minute, to five the Hawks a 2-1 lead at the half.
Freshman Erin O'Malley scored the equalizer for the Flyers in the 51st minute. Sophomore Ashley Campbell had the assist.
Campbell then scored the game-winner in the 65th minute off an assist from Waters.
Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth James had five saves for the Flyers.
The Flyers had 22 shots to SJU's 12.
Dayton, who is the No. 1 seed in the A-10 Championship, will play in the quarterfinals Thursday at 11 a.m.
