The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team tied with North Park University 0-0 after two overtimes Sunday in Whitewater at Fiskum Field.  The Warhawks fired 19 shots, five on goal, and move to 3-1-1 this season while the Vikings shot 14 times, nine on goal, and are 3-2-1.

Xander Lien (Pewaukee/Arrowhead) had perhaps the best opportunity to score for the Warhawks.  At the 73:49 mark Lien struck a ball from inside the box that was headed for the upper right corner, but North Park keeper Tim Ahlberg made a diving stop to preserve the tie.

Matt Mikesell (Waukesha/Kettle Moraine) came up big again for the Warhawks in goal.  He recorded nine saves in his third shutout of the season.  Mikesell is currently boasting a .958 save percentage and has allowed just one goal this season.

The game was rough and loaded with fouls.  The Vikings were whistled for 14 and the Warhawks 21.  There were also seven yellow cards issued in the game, three to the Warhawks.

The Warhawks, ranked eleventh in the latest NCSAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's National Poll, will return to the pitch on September 19 when they travel to Rock Island, Illinois to take on Augustana in a match beginning at 7:00 pm.
