(November 4, 2009) – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team fell to Rutgers, 2-0, on a cold, foggy Wednesday evening at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament.

RU’s Ibrahim Kimara scored the match’s first goal in the sixth minute after dribbling around a WVU defender and slipping one past WVU goalkeeper Zach Johnson from the back line. The Scarlet Knights’ Dan Parr scored the second and final goal of the game in the 32nd minute. Teammate Robbie McLarney sent a cross into the box from 25-yards out and Parr connected on a header to the back post for the score.

With the win, the Scarlet Knights (9-9-0, 5-6-0 BIG EAST) move on to face St. John’s in the second round of the league tournament on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Jamaica, N.Y.
