With the women’s college soccer season hitting its midpoint, it is time to unveil the Midseason TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Rankings. The list spotlights the top 100 performers of the campaign so far, measuring their minutes on the field, statistical achievements, and, most notably, their influence on winning.

1. Kylie Maxwell, Wake Forest - Wake Forest was supposed to take a massive step back this season, having lost the vast majority of the starters that reached the College Cup final. Yet the Deacs have maintained a top 25 ranking with Maxwell leading the attack as an electric freshman forward whose five goals and five assists are first among all Power 4 rookies in points.

2. Lily Freer, Stanford - The Cardinal have been incredible this season, and Freer has fit in effortlessly with starts in all eleven of her appearances. Seven of those have seen her play the full 90 minutes as a center back whose passing and pristine technique have fueled a free-flowing style.

3. Bella Devey, North Carolina - As the season has unraveled, Devey, who has been featuring in multiple positions, has become increasingly important for the defending champions. The Utah native has played the complete 90 in the last five matches, offering vital versatility as fourth on the team in minutes.

4. Kiara Gilmore, Wisconsin - Gilmore has adapted well on the fly for Wisconsin, featuring as a day one starter at center back and playing the full 90 in eleven of 14 appearances. Her most recent appearance was arguably her best yet as the Texas native played all 90 minutes and assisted the goal to upset No. 7 UCLA 1-0.

5. Olivia Hess, Baylor - The Bears have caught the nation by surprise this season, and one of the leaders has been Hess, a freshman midfielder whose 911 minutes are sixth on the team. Add the couple of goals and stellar box-to-box play she has provided, and the Texas native has undoubtedly been among the best freshmen in the country.
