Women's Soccer Earns #23 Spot on NSCAA National Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan.: Regis University women's soccer earned their first national ranking of the 2012 season after defeating two big RMAC school this past weekend.
The 4-0 win over Adams State College and 3-1 upset over then-ranked #13 Colorado Mesa University (now unranked), brought Regis to 7-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the RMAC Conference.
As a team, the Rangers are 22nd in the nation in goals per game. Junior Meghan Stuart is ranked 14th with six assists and senior Marissa Davis and freshman Sidny Otto are ranked 19th with 3.0 game-winning goals apiece.
The Rangers are ranked first in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in six categories: shots (210), points (75), goals (27), goals per game (2.7), assists (21) and assists per game (2.1).
Regis University is the only DII institution in the country that has three sports ranked top 25 in the nation. Men's soccer – 3rd, volleyball – 20th, and women's soccer -23rd.
The Rangers will hit the road Friday, October 5th. The team will take on Colorado School of Mines at 5:00 PM in Golden, Colo.
