WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT BOSTON UNIV. 2-0
BOSTON, MASS. - The Monmouth University women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Boston University in non-conference action on Friday night at Nickerson Field. The loss, Monmouth's second on the road, drops the Hawks' record to 1-3 overall, while the Terriers improve to 3-2.
The Terriers grabbed a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute when Ana Cuffia netted her first score of the year off a feed from Megan McGoldrick.
BU pushed its advantage to 2-0 in the 81st minute when Emma Clark converted a penalty kick opportunity for her second goal of the season.
The Terriers held a 10-4 advantage in shots, putting six on frame, which forced Monmouth senior Ashley Lewis (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) to make four saves. Andrea Green made a pair of stops in goal for BU, which also held a 6-2 edge in corner kick opportunities.
Monmouth returns to action on Sunday night, when the Hawks travel to NJIT for a 7:00 p.m. match with the Highlanders.
