Staten Island, NY -  The Wagner College women's soccer team returns home to Hameline Field following a two-match road trip as they host the Temple University Owls on Sunday afternoon.

Last Time Out: at Hartford (September 13, 2018 | Lost, 1-0)

  • A goal in the 16th minute from Hartford proved to be the difference as Hartford defeated Wagner 1-0 victory on Thursday evening.
  • In the 16th minute, the home team got what turned out to be the only goal of the match as Vitiello was able to beat junior netminder, Delaney Beck, with a low shot off a rebound.
  • Wagner's chance came in the 40th minute when Madison Starr rocketed a shot attempt on goal that was turned aside by Hartford's Maia Perez for her only save in the contest.
  • Beck was able to keep Wagner in the contest by recording seven saves on the next ten shots in the first half, before adding four more following intermission, to finish the contest with a career-tying 11 saves.
  • This marked the third time in her career she has stopped 11 shots and first since posting 11 stops on the road at Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Central Connecticut (10/20/17).

  • After defeating fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Sacred Heart, 3-2, in the season opener back on August 17, Iona has dropped its next four matches, all by one goal, most recently on the road at Albany, falling 2-1, on Friday afternoon.

  • This marked the third time in Beck's Seahawk career that she recorded double-digit saves.
