Karlie Lema’s heroic week for California leads to the latest Player of the Week honors.

The senior forward stepped up with an impressive hat trick to defeat Nevada 4-1, followed by two goals and an assist in a 3-0 shutout of San Diego. In all, the California native had a hand in six of the seven goals the Bears scored.

Women’s Team of the Week: September 2-8
GK: Ally Zazzara, Tennessee - Zazzara was unbeatable with five saves in a 0-0 draw with No. 6 UCLA, then secured her sixth clean sheet in a row as the Volunteers defeated Florida Atlantic 2-0.
D: Natalie Bain, Xavier - Continuing her outstanding start to the year, Bain scored two headers in an 8-0 defeat of Valparaiso before going the full 90 as Xavier defeated rival Cincinnati 1-0.
D: Ava Priest, Colorado - Priest was a two-way force as she managed two game-winners in clean-sheet victories over Denver and Weber State.
D: Cameron Roller, Duke - An inspired leader for Duke, Roller assisted the winner in the 1-0 upset of No. 2 North Carolina, then scored in a 5-0 handling of East Tennessee State.
M: Emily Mathews, Michigan State - The Spartan captain lived up to her lofty standards with a hattrick plus an assist versus Queens (NC), followed by 79 minutes in the 1-0 defeat of Loyola-Chicago.
M: Grace Restovich, Notre Dame - The freshman continued her outstanding debut with a goal in a 4-0 defeat of Northern Illinois, then a hat trick of assists to lead a 5-0 takedown of Marquette.
M: Caroline Penner, Seattle - Leading the team to two victories, Penner secured a hat trick in a 4-1 defeat of Oregon State days after scoring versus Hawaii.
M: Kennedy Bell, Maryland - Bell stepped up her game this week with an assist in a 1-1 draw with Towson, followed by another helper and two goals in the 4-0 defeat of VCU.
F: Karlie Lema, California - Five goals and an assist led the Bears to two convincing victories.
F: Sarah Schupansky, Pittsburgh - The Pittsburgh native flexed her creative muscles with six assists to go along with two goals as the Panthers managed 13 combined in defeats of Dartmouth and Mercyhurst.
F: Ella Pappas, Oklahoma - Pappas was one of the beneficiaries of an in-form Oklahoma offense with four goals and an assist in the 7-0 and 8-0 defeats of Stetson and Missouri State.
