WVWC over Shepherd Rams
Shepherdstown, W.Va. -- Men’s Soccer found a much needed win against Shepherd, beating the Rams 3-0 Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcat’s did the double over the Rams, as when these two teams met earlier this year the Bobcat’s came out with a 2-1 win.
It was senior Joe Ferraracci who gave the ‘Cats the lead in the 22nd minute, and he was assisted by freshman Rodrigo Bevaqua.
Wesleyan took this lead into the second half, and were gifted a goal in the 57th minute when an error from the Ram’s lead to an own goal. Shortly after, the Bobcat’s added a third through senior Kuda Chijeche and he was assisted by sophomore Alexandre Zidani.
The game was controlled by the ‘Cats, who registered 21 shots with 7 on target, to the Ram’s 8 with 3 on target. Wesleyan also outweighed Shepherd with corner kicks 6 – 4.
With this win, Men’s Soccer is 4-3-3 in the Conference and 6-5-4 overall. The Bobcat’s have three games left in regular season, with two of them being in the Conference.
They are scheduled to host Charleston Saturday October 26 with kick-off slated for 5:00pm.
